This panel brings together two groups: Artists and fursuiters, creating the space for art exchanges and a challenge for those interested.
Artists
Artists of every skill level are welcome to come practice their gesture drawing skill with the fursuiters that volunteer their time to pose. Bring your sketchbooks, digital sketchpads or medium of choice.
Mutual aid opportunity – We welcome the space for you to bring any art supplies to give away or trade with other creators. Bring stickers, sketchbooks, yarn, pens etc. Please do not leave behind anything that is not taken.
We offer the chance for your sketches to be digitized (aka a volunteer taking pictures) so that your work can be shared online after the con weekend. We intend to share with the Bayfur’s discord server, local telegram channels and this website. You may also submit your sketches to [email protected]. or tag them with #FursuitGestureDrawing #FGD2026
Fursuiters
While fursuiters can get art of their ‘sona by coming to hold a pose for either 30 secs, 2 mins or 10 mins. We ask that you reserve ahead of time for the 10 min slots. Free for all for both 30 seconds poses or the 2 min poses. We will try to run 3 poses in parallel, one in each category, so expect things to go a little chaotic. Feel free to bring any props you wish to pose with.
Full suit not required
We will attempt to take pictures to match the sketches. Please provide your sona’s name and any contact info you’d like us to match with.
What is Gesture drawing?
A gesture drawing is a laying in of the action, form, and pose of a model/figure. Typical situations involve an artist drawing a series of poses taken by a model in a short amount of time, often as little as 10 seconds, or as long as 5 minutes. Gesture drawing is often performed as a warm-up for a life drawing session, but is a skill that may be cultivated for its own sake. The primary purpose of gesture drawing is to facilitate the study of the human figure in motion
AKA capture the important elements of a pose by quickly constructing a drawing with shapes and weights.

There will be background music to work by!
We will have space for a Mutual aid station to trade/give art supplies with others.
Please, drop-ins are welcome anytime for either activity! Only the 10min poses need to be reserved before the panel.

FBAAM, the Furry Bay Area Artist Meet is a fur meet for the Bay Area, CA. We meet every other Sunday from 1pm – 4pm-ish, in different locations to give everyone a chance to art and chill together.
